Eight months into his new role as Head of International Key Accounts – Transportation at Forbo Flooring Systems, we catch up with Jacco to find out a little more about him.
Introduce yourself (job title, where you are from, where did you study, etc)
Jacco Vlaar, 45 years old, father of 3 (husband of 1), Dutch, living in city of Hoorn in the Netherlands
What is a memorable moment in your career with Forbo Flooring?
I have been with Forbo for a long time, so there have been many memorable moments, most of them good actually! But I guess I really should say the day I met my wife (who worked at the marketing department of Forbo at the time).

What do you enjoy most about your job?
I haven’t been in this position for very long and I am still learning every day. I really enjoy the combination of an international customer base, the need to be up to speed on quite specific and technical requirements on safety standards and the need to work together closely with our colleagues at the different production sites to come up with the best solution for our customers.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
With 3 kids in sports there is a lot of side line cheering going on at our household, not to mention all the time we invest in getting them to and from practices as well. I like riding my bike, working in the garden and I enjoy cooking when we organize dinner parties for family and friends.
What is your favourite film?
Hands down: Reservoir Dogs by Quentin Tarantino. I like almost all of his movies, but this one is the best.
Describe yourself in three words.
